Chef Enzo Goes Cowboy... in… uh… WHERE?

Michigan! That’s right, our good Chef Enzo is ridin’ the range and movin’ along them doggies in Three Rivers Michigan. That’s the home of Dundonald Farm and owner Eddie Mackay! But this isn’t your grandfathers western farm because it’s more a touch of Scotland than Texas! And wait until you see them doggies! They are Highland Cattle. If you’ve never seen Highland Cattle, get ready for a treat.
Eddie’s Dundonald Farm site
(www.dundonaldenterprise.com)
features many insights into how a Scotsman does farming. The site features beautiful photos of the farm, Highland Cattle, Cheviot ewes (sheep to the rest of us), and wonderful Scottish Tradition information that lets you know how proud Mr. Mackay is of is heritage. You even can find some info about Nessie if you planning a trip to be the first one calling Nessie out of the loch.Dundonald Farm Photos
What A Flocking Bunch!
Enzo really got the royal treatment at Dundonald Farm and was educated about how these hairy beasts get their magical names. (see Gaelic to English translations at http://www.highlandcattlesociety.com/highland_breed/naming_cattle.aspx)

Highland beef is healthy and nutritious. Scientific tests show convincing evidence that pure Highland beef is significantly lower in Fat and Cholesterol, and higher in Protein and Iron than other beef. But the excellent taste is what Enzo most remembers.

Next June the AHCA National Convention (www.highlandcattleusa.org/) will be held near Dundonald Farm and a tour is planned during the convention.

As Chef Enzo was leaving he could hear Eddie bidding him good wishes…
‘Lang may y’r Lum Reek!’ Not exactly ‘yippie-kai-yay’ but Dundonald Farm is not exactly your average cattle farm. Since the phrase translates to ‘Long may your chimney smoke!’ we knew Enzo had made a life long friend!
